As digital experiences become increasingly familiar, businesses are looking for new ways to create meaningful connections with customers. One growing trend is the return to real-life experiences (RLEs). RLEs: events, spaces, workshops, demonstrations and face-to-face interactions that give people a reason to engage beyond the screen.

For businesses this presents an interesting opportunity: could experiences become part of the business model itself?
Rather than viewing an event or physical experience purely as marketing, businesses can consider how it might support wider objectives from strengthening customer relationships and building communities to creating additional revenue streams or giving a service a more distinctive identity.
The key is to make the experience feel authentic to the business. It could be as simple as hosting regular customer sessions, creating an interactive showroom, running educational workshops or developing an experience around a product or service.
As consumer expectations continue to evolve, it may be worth asking not just “What do we sell?” but “What experience could we create around it?” For many businesses, that could be an increasingly valuable part of the model.
